Bracco Italianos

History of the breed

Originating in Northern Italy, the Bracco Italiano has been called the oldest European pointer. Bracco's were sought out by Nobles and Royal families and appear in paintings and texts since the fourth or fifth century BC.

Adapted to all types of hunting, the Bracco's inherent intelligence makes them easy to train. Tough and athletic, they are reliable and eager to please.

Braccos have a sweet, affectionate nature. They have very gentle dispositions, are very loyal, and love to be around human company. Despite being a hunting breed, their overall demeanor is calm and gentle, making them a great family dog.
